From initial construction, begun in 1860, to modern day, the history, development and architecture of the California State Capitol is on display and detailed at the California State Capitol Museum. Located on 10th Street in Sacramento, the building houses the chambers of the California State Legislature. There are also an interesting variety of permanent collections, including memorials, monuments, statues and portraits of former governors.
